Sculpture

An interesting process, which takes  time, energy, and creative endeavors.  This violin carved into the vermiculite and plaster sculpture…was first poured into a plastic garbage can…after liberal amounts of Vaseline were applied to my hands and up my arm past my elbows…mixed liberally until the heat was started within the garbage can…and then left to harden…and next to cutting away the can…and carving away…from a complete block of plaster with bits of vermiculite.  This piece actually rests on one corner…a balancing act.  It was donated to the Patten Free Library, after being painted in purples and browns.

Metal sculpture was a logistical exercise…with balance, color, and of course figuring out how to use the tools properly…getting that bead right was so important!

‘Think” wall sculpture, with the shape of an eye cut out of wood, and then sculpture applied to that, with painting the repeated design overall being the last step.  “Think” was donated to the Woolwich Central School Guidance Department.

A clear water fountain, for inside, was created with plexiglass, Christmas balls, and pvc pipe.

I am missing images for other sculptures that I have created…a large dragonfly with textiles and metal, and a larger than life leaf with a black wooden modern base.
