Pop Up Piano

I so enjoyed getting this piano ready.  Such a beautiful piece with the columns.  The pics at the end are the piano untouched.  What a beauty.  At first I felt guilty about covering this work of art with my art.  The piano plays better than my piano at home, a spinet type.  After sanding and then three coats of primer…two coats of Behr polar bear white were applied, and then the designs…and while my art usually evolves through the process, this one, oddly enough, was fairly identical to the proposal I submitted.

It was interesting to work in the make shift studio with other artists…we are all so different from each other, and have so many things to offer one another.  It has been since university that I have worked in that kind of an environment.

Just a short hop from my own home studio, but towards the end, I drove from exhaustion.

So pleased that I had the opportunity to work on this piano.  Thank you Shoreline.  The Pop up Pianos for 2019 have been funded by the City of Shoreline’s Public Art Program.
